Multinational, military May Day
On May 3, 2022, the Headquarters Multinational Division Centre (HQ MND-C) was activated as part of the NATO Force Structure. Celebrating the one-year anniversary of the famous event, the headquarters based in Székesfehérvár - together with the Hungarian and Slovakian NATO Forces Integral Elements (NFIU) - participated in the city's Sports May Day.It is well known that national defense and sports are closely linked, as one of the basic requirements of being a soldier is adequate physical fitness and a generally sporty lifestyle. That is why no one was surprised when they saw the tents of the Székesfehérvár-based multinational military entities’, and they also were not surprised when they had to perform three or even ten regular squats, depending on their age, in a vest and helmet.
Of course, the local international military organizations did not attend the 1st May event to make everyone work well... "Székesfehérvár is the home of our unit, this city welcomed us, so it is very important for us to return something of this hospitality, so to speak. By the way, our presence here is also important so that the locals get to know us as well as possible and find out why we serve here," said Major General Denis Tretinjak, commander of HQ MND-C. He added: the relationship between the soldiers of the international headquarters and the civilians is quite excellent. While the little ones tried to make the military-themed coloring pages as lifelike as possible, the adults could get to know, for example, the characteristics of Spanish, Romanian, Turkish, or even Croatian military culture.
